Great Shopping Day at the Manistique Farmers’ Market

Yesterday was such a beautiful day at the top of Lake Michigan; warm temperatures and a cooling Lake Michigan breeze made it an ideal day at the Manistique Farmers’ Market.

A total of 279 people shopped at 12 farmer and cottage food vendor stalls. Some of the highlights of the market included:

  • The first UP blueberries and raspberries of the season
  • Sweet Corn
  • Michigan Cherries
  • And of course the best free range eggs, honey, beef, ground flours, dried pastas, jams and baked goods around!

At this week’s market we started our market survey to help determine the economic impact the Farmers’ Market has on the broader community. Sixteen-percent (45) of shoppers stopped and answered the 6 questions and were entered into a drawing for $25 in Manistique Merchant Cash to be held on August 1st. Market customers will have two more opportunities to participate in the survey on July 18th and 25th.

Remember, the Manistique Farmers’ Market is open every Wednesday from 4-6pm through October 31st. Also, join us for a special Saturday Farmers’ Market on July 21st from 9-11am. All markets are held at Little Bear West Arena in Manistique.
