Manistique Farmers’ Market – Winter Tasks

Happy New Year everybody!

Just 133 days until the opening of the 2013 Manistique Farmers’ Market. Lots of work to be done to make sure everything is ready for May 15th, including maintenance on the Market signs and canopies.  Between Christmas and New Year’s our dining room turned into the canopy workshop, checking for any loose or missing nuts, bolts, or anything else needing repair. Winter Canopy Maintenance All 20 canopies have been inspected and toned-up for the 2013 Season.

The Market signs have been cleaned and the backside of the signs installed.

We’ve also been surveying the farmers and shoppers of the market so that it can better serve the needs of as many people as possible. If you haven’t taken the shopper survey yet, you may do so by clicking the big red check mark on the right side of this page. The deadline says December 15th, but we’ve extended that to allow feedback from more shoppers.

Stay warm. Think Spring. Stay tuned.

Manistique Farmers’ Market

Countdown to 2013 Markets!

Yesterday we closed out the 2012 Manistique Farmers’ Market season with a special Holiday Market which included a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. A special thank-you to Kathleen Haynes, Steve and Sandee Uecke, Ed Wright, Tammy Vincent and Mindy Moore for preparing such wonderful holiday baked goods, honey, and gift baskets for the Holiday Market.

We’d also like to thank our Market Host, Judie Zerilli for all of her wonderful support and work for the Manistique Farmers’ Market.

Of course a big thank-you goes to Allan Ott, the Market Master for keeping the Market on schedule and looking great each and every week.

Thank you to all of our Farmers and Cottage Food Vendors – you are the heart of our Market and we appreciate you, as I know the residents of Manistique do as well.

Thank you to the City of Manistique – your leadership and support of the Manistique Farmers’ Market is the foundation of the Market’s success. It is a pleasure to work with all of the City Council of Manistique and the City employees. We are truly blessed with positive and gifted leaders in the City of Manistique.

Finally, thank you to our customers. Without your ongoing support and love for the Manistique Farmers’ Market we would have no reason to be here.

We will see all of you on May 15, 2013 at 4pm when we launch another season of fresh local foods at the Manistique Farmers’ Market.

Be well. Be safe.

Trick or Treat at the Manistique Farmers’ Market

As our last weekly Market of 2012 is rapidly approaching, and since it falls on October 31st, we’re going to celebrate another successful Market season with Trick or Treating at the Manistique Farmers’ Market! Don’t forget we still have regular Markets on October 17th and 24th from 4-6pm at the Arena if it’s nice and in the Community Room next to Michigan Works if it’s inclement.
